Lesson Plan

• Hook (5 min): Ask "What do 70% of medical decisions depend on?" — reveal lab testing.
• Vocabulary (5 min): Review key terms: venipuncture, hematocrit, EDTA, STAT, PHI.
• Gameplay (25 min): Solo or Team Battle mode. Encourage explanations after each answer.
• Debrief (10 min): Review missed questions. Discuss real-world implications.
• Extension: Students write a 1-minute procedure summary for venipuncture.

Team Battle Rules

• One team picks a category & coin value.
• Both teams can buzz in using buttons or keyboard [1]/[2].
• First to buzz gets 20 seconds to answer.
• Correct = earning team picks next question.
• Wrong = other team may buzz in on the same question.
• Unanswered = no coins awarded, picker's turn continues.
